BURLINGAME, Calif. - December 22, 2008 - EGI Technologies, Inc., a leading global provider of team collaboration and social software solutions
to commercial and government enterprises, today announced that its Central Repository collaboration suite
(CR 2.0) integrates with Google Docs to provide a complete Real-Time Collaboration (RTC) solution.
File and activity sharing are two core components in Real-time Collaboration for improving teamwork and productivity in offices and enterprises.
Through the use of Google API, EGI has incorporated Google Docs into its Central Repository solution. Customers can now upload their MS Word, Excel
and Power Point files as Google Docs to CR. As a result, the uploaded files would be available as collaboration documents for team members to work
on in real time. The state-of-the-art and easy-to-use CR Access Control model and file classification and organization features of CR work on
all of the files in the repository, regardless of whether they are Google Docs or regular files. When a document has
been through with its active, collaboration phase, user may store the document as a stable version in the Central Repository and be
organized in the workspace for future references. With Google Docs integration, EGI’s CR is the first total solution to enable real-time collaboration
as well as file repository functions for commercial and government enterprises.
"CR 2.0 is a turnkey, scaleable and cost effective on-premise and SaaS solution to satisfy the needs of real-time collaboration and sharing of data and activities for project teams in a social context," said EGI Technologies CEO and Chairman, Edward C. Cheng. "Our goal is to enable professionals and companies in taking advantage of existing social networks to improve productivity and teamwork of their distributive workforce."
