San Mateo, Calif. - Sep 18, 2003 - EGI Technologies, a leading global
provider of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions to enterprise
organizations, today announced the release of Product Release Manager 3.2
(PRM 3.2). PRM 3.2 runs on Sybase Enterprise Application Server 4.2 to
deploy fast, highly scaleable and reliable PRM applications.
With this announcement EGI becomes part of a growing community that
delivers solutions and services based on Sybase EAServer architecture.
The relationship provides seamless integration between EGI's PRM applications
and the EAServer in order
to increase system performance and reduce implementation time.
Sybase provides an important strategic platform for EGI's next generation
solutions, and the added flexibility and performance of
the Sybase New Era of Network adapters product line will further enable EGI
to deliver
highly scalable integration capabilities.
EGI PRM 3.2 is a Web-based solution to streamline the Product Introduction Process
and reduce time-to-market.
By modeling and retaining the "know-how's" of the product release cycle,
EGI PRM enables employees to leverage their skills and work
together as one team. It allows managers to focus on the high cost,
high risk areas rather than simply going through a checklist of the Product
Introduction Process. PRM creates a powerful collaborative environment
that makes it easy for employees to stay focused on the right tasks
and easy for managers to identify, track and solve problems.
Team members and project participants work together with a customized,
up-to-the-minute list of detailed assignments. Members have the option
to record time spent on projects and time remaining to complete their tasks.
The system, rather than people, will alert project managers on potential
issues and communicate new requirements. With simple views tailored
for them, team leaders can quickly initiate new projects by using
established best practices, defined deliverables and planned timelines.
The project dashboard notifies the project team leader of critical
activities, milestones and pending activities that are coming due.
EGI PRM 3.2 is designed specifically for scalability.
The Web-based application enables a small team or large organization
to work together on critical product release activities,
whether they are working locally or in remote facilities.
PRM 3.2 simplifies interactions and document exchange among people,
groups and machines. It facilitates collaboration and provides maximum
visibility into the hundreds or even thousands of activities that go
into releasing a product to market.
